Pathways X The Plug - Law Taster Activities

Are you interested in studying Law?

Then get involved in ‘The Plug’!

If you are a student in Year 11 at Secondary School or at Sixth Form or College (Y12/13) then the Plug is here to provide opportunities and information that can be used to explore studying Law at University.

The Plug has been created by students from the University of Leicester Street Law pro-bono project – Students will share their experience as current law students and will guide you through workshops and panel decisions to help you make decisions and prepare to apply. Being student led it will be a fun and informal way to learn about routes into law.

As a student ‘The Plug’ project will bring you:

The Plug YouTube series (Dates: 9th December – 16th January): Throughout the month of December, leading up to our virtual panel, Pathways will be posting a video every Wednesday and Friday on our Instagram/YouTube channels. Current university students will be interviewed and discuss life as a Law student, pre and post COVID-19. The aim of this YouTube series is to give you an insight into what life is like studying as a law student and offer advice to those of you who might consider pursuing law at University. Follow our Instagram and YouTube Channels to keep up to date!

(Virtual) Law Student Panel (Dates: 16th January 2021): Join us virtually as a panel of university students from the University of Leicester Street Law pro-bono project, answer your questions about studying Law at University. Before the virtual panel, you will have the opportunity to submit any questions you have about studying law and the opportunity to pose questions about university life as a law student before and after COVID-19. To book onto this event please use our online application form

As a school or college ‘The Plug’ project will bring you:

Law-Taster Workshops (In-school Activity): These workshops will provide an insight into what it means to study Law; from understanding the general principle of the concepts of Law to analysing case studies. There are four separate workshops to choose from: Law of Tort, Contract Law, Criminal Law and Medical Law. You can use our online form to request a workshop to be delivered in school via Teams or Show my Homework

If you have any questions about any of the above resources/activities, please email Taylor

After that session, I am thinking about University. I wasn’t before. I’m more confident now.
