Background

Pathways brings together the University of Leicester, Loughborough University, and De Montfort University, as well as Leicester College, and Loughborough College, with the aim of supporting more young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to reach their full potential through Higher Education.

Our Offer

For a couple of years Pathways has been working with schools collaboratively and we have been offering a variety of resources, workshops and events for pupils from years 9 to 13. Since August 2021 (read our mapping report by clicking here) we have introduced a strategic outreach strand to our work where we are specifically working with underrepresented groups and looking to support them to make informed decisions about their futures. Here is an example of who we are targeting with our strategic work:

  • Adult learners
  • Children from military families
  • Looked after children
  • Students with disabilities
  • Students from disadvantaged communities
  • Young adult carers

Our work now extends to children aged 11 and we have also worked with unaccompanied asylum seeking children and young people, young carers and care experienced children and young people. You can read more about our work by clicking here.
