The following information has been taken from Loughborough University’s website which can be found here.
At Loughborough, we recognise that students who have experienced the care system in the UK are statistically less likely to progress into higher education due to the additional barriers that they face. We also understand that these students may need more pastoral support and financial help.
In recognition of this, we are holding our Explore More Taster Days for care-experienced and look-after young people and their supporting adults.
We will be hosting 2 days of fun and informative activities that will provide a useful insight into application to university, university life and the support services and funding available to care-experienced students.
Loughborough staff and students will lead academic taster sessions, presentations about finance and support, campus tours and some fun, practical activities which will give you a taste of university life.
You will also get the chance to find out all you need to know about applying to university as a care-experienced young person.
